Scope
The client was seeking to hire a new CEO for an existing portfolio business and mandated us to undertake off the record referencing on their preferred final candidate.
Process
The preferred candidate was in a high-profile, full-time executive role meaning referencing had to be undertaken on a highly confidential basis. We were able to tap into our network of senior executives and non-executives and complete discrete referencing, people were happy to talk to us under these circumstances because of the long-established relationships we build as well as our reputation for operating with integrity. We delved down into potential issues around the candidate’s style, energy, ability to build a new culture, product knowledge and ability to operate with the required gravitas.
Outcome
We presented our report to the client with our assessment and opinion on the suitability of the candidate for the role in question.
